Authorities say a 9-year-old boy died Thursday after being hit by a city public works truck in Moorhead.
The crash happened just before noon at the corner of 14th Street South and 40th Avenue South, near S.G. Reinertsen Elementary School on the south side of Moorhead.
The State Patrol said the truck, driven by a 64-year-old man from West Fargo, N.D., was traveling north on 14th Street when it hit the child in a crosswalk.
The city of Moorhead said the boy was riding a bike at the time of the crash. His name has not been released. Authorities have not released further details on the circumstances of the crash.
The State Patrol is handling the investigation.
