Minneapolis police arrested a man Thursday in connection with a deadly shooting at Boom Island Park earlier in the month.

Police say officers carried out a search warrant on the 7800 block of Terrace Road NE in Spring Lake Park on Thursday afternoon. According to a statement from a police spokesperson, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man has not yet been charged. He is being held at Hennepin County Jail.

The shooting on June 1 killed 23-year-old Stageina Whiting. Five other people were wounded by gunfire; one suffered life-threatening injuries. A sixth person sustained minor injuries in the chaos following the shooting.

Police are still investigating. The Minneapolis Park Board has stepped up police presence at Boom Island Park, added a camera at the park entrance and shortened parking lot hours.
