Monday's daily attendance at the Minnesota State Fair hit a record. The daily attendance creeped just past 145,000 people Monday — about 500 more people than the record set in 2017.

The total attendance through the first five days of the fair is running about 15 percent higher than last year's pace.

While the State Fair attendance continues to see slight growth in numbers, 2024 was a record-breaking year, with five days setting attendance records:

  • First Thursday — 138,875 — previous record was 133,326 in 2016

  • First Friday — 171,233 — previous record was 164,741 in 2023

  • Wednesday — 145,531 — previous record was 144,940 in 2018

  • Second Friday — 225,521 — previous record was 209,789 in 2019

  • Second Sunday — 256,015 — previous record was 245,243 in 2019

The fair’s final weekend frequently sees the biggest crowds each year.

The Great Minnesota Get-Together will run through Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 1.
