S&P 500, Nasdaq Erase Gains as Record Close Seems Unlikely

Stocks fell from grace on Friday--and a new update from President Donald Trump may have done it. After marking new intraday highs, the S&P 500 and tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite were standing near session lows on Friday afternoon. The S&P 500 was flat while the Nasdaq was down 0.1%, with the indexes no longer on pace to mark record closes.
