Brooklyn Park police issued a shelter-in-place order Saturday morning as authorities searched for a suspect in “multiple targeted shootings.”

The order is for a 3-mile radius from Edinburgh USA golf course in the northwest Twin Cities metro community. The golf course is located just south of the State Highway 610 freeway, and west of State Highway 252.

Police said in the alert that the suspect they’re seeking may be misrepresenting himself as a law enforcement officer. He’s described as a white male wearing black body armor over a blue shirt and blue pants. He’s considered armed and dangerous — and police said he should not be approached. Anyone who believes they see the suspect should call 911.

There was no immediate information from authorities about the shootings that prompted the alert.

This is a developing story; check back for updates.
